Marta Jedrysko



Marta Jedrysko (1959) werkt met een wervelende selectie van felle en warme kleuren. Wanneer deze kleuren op het canvas te zien zijn, ervaart de toeschouwer een explosie van leven. Wie aanwezig is een ruimte met Marta's werk waant zich in een zomerse droom.

Marta heeft de kunstacademie in Kraków (Polen) cum laude afgerond in 1983 en is in 1985 naar Nederland verhuisd. Hoewel haar stijl in de loop der jaren duidelijk is veranderd van abstract expressionisme naar een warme, bijna impressionistische stijl, is deze Pools noch Nederlands. Ze drukt haar persoonlijke gevoelens uit op een abstracte wijze, maar improviseert niet.

Haar inspiratie komt vaak voort uit alledaagse dingen zoals een stilleven, bloemen of menselijke figuren. Vanuit dit startpunt abstraheert zij het object naar haar innerlijke wereld, maar verliest tegelijkertijd geen moment het contact met de tastbare werkelijkheid waaruit het object afkomstig is. Marta gebruikt olieverf op canvas, materiaal dat perfect is voor het aanbrengen van de lagen van spectaculaire kleuren die zij tot uiting wil brengen.

Zij schildert met een vloeiende toets en haar ogenschijnlijk spontane streken op het doek zijn feitelijk zeer doordacht en aangepast naar de perfectie die Marta nastreeft. De oorspronkelijke fruitschaal wordt een zee van emotie; de harde lijnen vloeien over in stromen van gevoelens.

Marta Jedrysko (1959) works with a marvellous selection of passionate bright and warm colours. Seeing them painted on canvas, you'll experience an explosion of life. Being in a room full of works by Marta equals living in a summer dream. Marta studied art in Cracow, Poland, passed cum laude in 1983 and moved to the Netherlands in 1985. Although her style has clearly evolved from abstract expressionism to a warm, almost impressionistic style during the years, it is neither Polish nor Dutch. She expresses her state of mind in an abstract way, but does not improvise.

Inspiration is often taken from a still life, human figures or flowers. From this starting point she abstracts the object into her own world, but, at the same time, never loses touch with the recognizable world from which her object is taken. Marta uses oil paint on canvas, which is perfect for the layering of the spectacular colours she intends to show.

She paints with a fluent touch, and her apparently spontaneous strokes on the canvas are in fact very thoughtful and altered to the perfection Marta intends. The original fruit bowl becomes an ocean of emotion, the hard lines fade to flows of feelings.
